Technical Tutorial- How to Export a video in M4V

Overview:

Exporting videos can be an important task, especially for our class because the tricaster will only play a certain size of video, so they must be exported properly.

Steps:

1. The first step would obviously be to make sure the video is completely edited and ready to be exported.

2. The next step will be to go to the file tab at the top of the screen, then go to the share tab and click on "Apple Devices 720p"

3. Once you click on the "720p" tab, click under settings and make sure it opens with the "QuickTime Player"
4. After you make sure these settings are correct, click on the next tab and choose where to save the video, then click export and if it's been exported correctly, the video will end in .m4v

Article Review- Baylor's Top five team

Summary:

This article is about Baylor's basketball team. They are ranked number three in the nation and the author of the article emphasized that they were able to do this without any of the top recruits in the nation.

Argument:

The author wants to argue that Baylor is not a force to be reckoned with, they might not have the best recruits in the nation but they have beaten some great teams and have been able to prove themselves worthy of hanging with teams, such as KU, and other teams that get many top recruits. The evidence he uses to support this claim is all the teams that Baylor has beat thus far, and where the players have came from (Junior college and D1 transfers, along with underrated high school players).

Thoughts:

I thought that the author did a good job expressing his ideas without having to write a long story. I thought it was very effective for how brief it was.
A weakness could be that he could include more information, but I think he did a good job getting his idea out, and making it a brief and simple article.

Critique:

The authors argument does support his main points, the Baylor Bears were very underrated and have proven that they don't need the top recruits in the nation to be at top five team. The evidence is convincing, it does show that they don't just pull from the top players, but have a variety of talent coming from all over the place. The author could've gone more in-depth into how they have been able to win the games that they have, but I think overall he accomplished his goal.

Project Review- ESPN's My Wish

Summary:

This story was about a 16 year old with a severe kidney problem who's biggest wish was to meet Bryce Harper. ESPN learned about this wish and made that possible, with Bryce Harper surprising her at a store. The girl eventually went to the National's park and got a tour with Harper, and then played catch with him on the field before throwing out the first pitch during the game.

Technical:

I thought that the story was great, technically. They had great interviews of both the girl and the players, and also had good close-ups of the people to see their emotions.
The story was told through a voice-over, and different interviews of the girl and her family.
I would like to be able to integrate the voice-overs with the sound bites like this story did, because it flowed very well and was smooth and everything made sense. I have learned how to match my voice-over with the sound bites like this story did, sort of introducing what the interviewee is about to say.

Conclusion:

I think the creator did a great job in pulling at the audiences emotions through the sound bites of the girl and her family. The shots used and the way he told the story made it an emotional piece that was both sound and joyful at the same time.
I don't think the creator would need to do anything to make the story better, it was a very good story and it achieved everything it was trying to accomplish.
