Summary:
This story was about a 16 year old with a severe kidney problem who's biggest wish was to meet Bryce Harper. ESPN learned about this wish and made that possible, with Bryce Harper surprising her at a store. The girl eventually went to the National's park and got a tour with Harper, and then played catch with him on the field before throwing out the first pitch during the game.
Technical:
I thought that the story was great, technically. They had great interviews of both the girl and the players, and also had good close-ups of the people to see their emotions.
The story was told through a voice-over, and different interviews of the girl and her family.
I would like to be able to integrate the voice-overs with the sound bites like this story did, because it flowed very well and was smooth and everything made sense. I have learned how to match my voice-over with the sound bites like this story did, sort of introducing what the interviewee is about to say.
Conclusion:
I think the creator did a great job in pulling at the audiences emotions through the sound bites of the girl and her family. The shots used and the way he told the story made it an emotional piece that was both sound and joyful at the same time.
I don't think the creator would need to do anything to make the story better, it was a very good story and it achieved everything it was trying to accomplish.
